How shoppers choose what product to buy in store and evaluating customer satisfaction after purchase

Room 3 | 4:45 pm - 5:15 pm | Wednesday, May 3, 2023

This case study covers the total shopper journey in the purchase of Nutritionally Complete drinks and Protein Shakes.

Initially, we asked Shoppers about their attitudes and intentions when buying products in this category, brands they would be most likely to consider and key purchase drivers.

But what happens in reality – in store?

So we then asked shoppers to report on their buying experience in Waitrose Tesco and Sainsbury’s, what products had the greatest impact, what they would be most likely to buy and WHY. This includes photos and videos to bring their experience to life and highlight what factors had the most influence on their purchase decision.

Did the product meet expectations?

Finally, we captured feedback on what the products delivered, did it meet expectations and overall satisfaction.

As proof of concept, we are offering all attendees 20 free in-store shopper visits during May.

Key takeaways:

  1. How to evaluate key measures of success.
  2. The impact of in-store placement and dominance at the fixture on likely purchase.
  3. Influence of pack design and core messages on purchase behavior.
  4. How effectively did the product meet and exceed shopper expectations.
