Business insights that save lives: Choice modeling with first responders to drive innovation with Bullard

Room 2 | 11:15 am - 11:45 am | Monday, March 27, 2023

First responders answer the call to emergencies while often putting themselves at serious risk, saving lives and property. Such emergencies often involve entering burning buildings or structures under peril of collapsing. The gear pack (the items worn or carried) in these situations is critical to both success of the mission and the safety of the first responder.

Bullard redesigned the Thermal Imaging Device with modern use cases and the latest technology available with OvationMR as their insights partner. A conjoint methodology was pragmatically applied to aid in new product development of thermal imaging devices for first responders, giving them a superior advantage in the face of danger.

OvationMR and Bullard teamed up to conduct primary research among firefighters, EMTs and fire management across the U.S. An online survey utilizing a conjoint methodology and analysis was executed.

Key takeaways:

  • How to target and successfully recruit challenging B2B audiences.
  • How using qualitative early revealed an opportunity to improve performance and reduce risk on product redesigns.
  • When to choose conjoint with online surveys and how to set it up for success.
  • Conclusive study results detailing optimal product feature set opportunities.
