GDPR Basics for Marketers and Researchers

The European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) policy went “live” in May 2018. There are basic tenets of these identity governance and privacy compliance regulations that data controllers and data processors need to know now. In this presentation, we will review the basics of GDPR policy and suggest resources to train (and certify) yourself and your teams. Time will be allowed for a Q&A. Given the newness of GDPR, many practitioners are learning as they go and this is a good opportunity to bring questions for group discussion. Note that this is not a legal review; we will be speaking about our experiences as marketers but we will provide legal references to those who want to investigate them.
